1967 RS/Z-28 Granada Gold Crossram Equipped
11,000 Mile Camaro

1967 RS/Z-28 Granada Gold Crossram Equipped Camaro

1 Ordered under the GM New Car Purchase Plan by a GM employee in Flint, MI on April 4, 1967. Delivered to Applegate Chevrolet in Flint sometime between April 29th and June 03, 1967. The original owner immediately began setting up the brand new Camaro to race in the SCCA Trans-Am series road racing events. Early modifications included headers, widened rims, Koni shocks, factory front and rear spoilers, Goodyear Blue Streak racing rubber, Hurst shifter and lock-out, saftey harness, GM Heavy Duty Service Parts ball joints, front springs and rear sway bar, leafs added to rear springs and de-arched. The factory 3:73 went to 4:56, then back to 4:10 and then to 5:38 to fit the needs of the various events. In October 1968, the 2x4 Crossram (an interim production unit {no part number on intake runner} with a "blip" lid dated 6-12-68 and 891 dated Holleys) was purchased for the then princely sum of $425 (Employee discount) and installed on the original 302, where it has remained to this day. In May of ‘70 a complete power steering setup was deemed a good idea and installed (later removed).

Sold in 1971 to the second owner who kept the car for 34 years before its sale in early 2005 and Rick George's acquisition in 2006. We will have more info on the 11,800 mile Z-28's early modifications, racing history and its minimal restoration history soon.
